'The
Maloreon'
by David Eddings
|
A
series of 5 fantastic epic fantasy books. Kept me reading through
all 5 books plus others!
|
American
Gods
by Neil Gaiman |
Uses the idea that gods exist because
we believe in them, and the consequences of the existence of
these gods. Excellent! |
'The
Colour of Magic'
by Terry Pratchett
|
Fantasy/comedy,
the first in the infamous 'Discworld' series. Based on the
adventures of the Wizard Rincewind and the Luggage.
I recently met Terry Pratchett - see the
pics here!

'Harry
Potter'
by J.K. Rowling
by J.K. Rowling
|
Yes,
I'm yet another of those raving Harry Potter fans!
J.K. Rowling
can certainly be compared with such greats as Enid Blyton and
Roald Dahl.
|
'Weaveworld'
by Clive Barker
|
A
really good, and I must say slightly twisted, horror-fantasy by writer Clive Barker. The
story revolves around a world that has been woven into a rug!
|
'Coraline'
by Neil Gaiman |
A
fairy tale about a young girl called Coraline. Scarier for adults
than for children - really good story.
I met Neil Gaiman at Waterstones
Bookshop in Manchester. Click here to see the

Angels & Demons
by Dan Brown |
This is Dan Brown's second novel and the
first to feature the character Robert Langdon (who also appears in
The Da Vinci Code).
I thought this was better than The Da Vinci Code, better written and
far better researched. |
The Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy
by Douglas Adams |
Absolutely loved the Hitchhiker's Guide
series of books. Absolutely hilarious - shame about the film of the
same name. |
