The following
techniques are basic alternative therapies for people with FM, some I
have devised myself while others I have borrowed or adapted from
others. I have used all of the techniques below with some success. Colour Healing:
Colour healing is the use
of colours to affect, and
therefore heal, the mind and body.
-
Dark Red
Red is an energising colour, wear or surround yourself with
dark red to help with arthritis or fatigue.
-
Orange
Orange is another energising colour which is especially good
for fatigue.
-
Blue
Blue is a cooling, healing colour. Wear it or surround
yourself with it before going to sleep or when you have a
headache. A pale green can also be used to this effect.
Energy Work:
Energy work is the practice of moving energy around the body.
-
Inhaling Cosmic
Energy
Stand in the shape of a star or X, tilting the head back
slightly and with the palms of the hands facing upward.
Visualise the flow of infinite cosmic energy rushing past and
all around you as a blue/white light. Then visualise some of
the energy starting to flow into your palms, and then the
crown of head, followed by the solar plexus and tops of the
legs until you feel full of energy. Bring your hands down by
your sides and visualise the energy stop flowing into your
body as you do this, the energy goes back to its original
pattern of flowing around you.
-
Absorbing
Energy from the Sun
Stand facing the sun. Raise your hands above your head.
Feel the warmth of the sun striking your forehead at the point
between the eyebrows, and the palms of your hands. Feel
that you are drawing warmth and energy into your body through
those “windows”. After some time, turn your back to
the sun, and feel its warmth upon the area of the medulla
oblongata (at the base of the brain). Keep your hands
raised above the head. Again, draw the sun’s rays into
your body.
-
Energising
Breathing
This was taught to me by my Yoga teacher:
Stand with your feel hip distance apart and resting your hands
on your thighs.
Inhale as you bring the arms sideways and straight up above
the head, take a small pause and exhale as you bring the arms
down again. Repeat this up to 8 times.

questions about the techniques on this page please don't hesitate
