One of the
fundamental beliefs of paganism is the belief in magic. Belief
that it is possible to effect ones environment through the
manipulation of natural energies - the use of spells.
There is more than one type of magic, the kind practiced by most
witches is what is termed as 'low' magic though some do dabble in
ceremonial or 'high' magic.
Magic is often the
main reason that people seek out the pagan community. They merely
want to call themselves 'Witch' and do not realise that paganism
is a way of life and foremost a religion. This is one of the
reasons Wiccans and pagans often feel the need to test the resolve of
seekers.
